Public Alerting System

The Public Alerting System (PAS) communicates local emergency information on short notice to registered users during floods, wildfires and other disasters. This is different from Alert Ready which the federal and provincial governments only use in the most urgent, large-scale situations.

When you register for the PAS, you can select the zone(s) you receive emergency notifications for. You will then be notified whenever an Evacuation Alert or Evacuation Order is issued or rescinded for that area.

The PAS is free for anyone in the Regional District's electoral areas and the City of Prince George. The PAS is not currently available in the District of Mackenzie, Village of McBride and Village of Valemount.

The PAS is only used in emergency situations, but you can also subscribe to receive email about the Regional District's regular services and programs.
