Users of the transfer stations in McBride and Valemount may notice some changes in tipping fees starting in 2024.
There will continue to be no charge for small loads of garbage. A small load is considered to be something that would fit within the bed of a pick up truck, car or SUV.
Those who are bringing in garbage in large volumes (such as a pick-up truck or a pick up truck with a utility trailer), and/or those who bring in small loads of garbage multiple times a day or week may be subject to a tipping fee.
Tipping fees for large volume waste that is not considered demolition, land clearing or construction range from $27 to $157 per load.
Tipping Fees effective January 1, 2024
- $27.00 for Load Classes 1 and 2 means passenger and light truck vehicles up to 3 cubic metre capacity or passenger and light truck vehicles towing utility trailers, up to 3 metre capacity
- $73.50 for Load Class 3 means truck vehicles up to 8 cubic metre capacity
- $92.00 for Load Class 4 means truck vehicles up to 10 metre capacity
- $157.00 for Load Class 5 truck vehicles and/or trailer up to 15 cubic metre capacity
