Illegal Dumping

Illegal dumping is deliberately disposing of waste on public or private land without approval. This includes dumping waste at Regional District facilities outside of normal business hours or bins provided.

Illegally dumped materials like garbage, yard and garden waste, demolition and construction waste, appliances, furniture or hazardous waste can cause several problems:

Observing and reporting

Illegal dumping is a criminal offence. If you see any illegal dumping contact the Province of BC's Report All Poachers and Polluters (RAPP) line at 1-877-952-RAPP (7277).

Community cleanups

If you are part of a community group hosting an illegal dumping clean up event, contact Environmental Services for an application to waive your tipping fees at Foothills Boulevard Regional Landfill.
