In it together
This year's Emergency Preparedness Week theme is "In it together" which recognizes the importance of relationships and community connection. Being prepared for emergencies like wildfires and floods isn’t just about what supplies you have - it's about working together, so we can collectively respond to and recover from emergencies better!
If you are prepared for an emergency, you will be better able to support others:
- Know the hazards that are likely to happen in our region to help you focus your preparedness actions.
Use the BC hazard map for the emergencies that could happen here
- Gather supplies in an emergency kit and grab-and-go bags and add items for your specific needs, and don’t forget to include items your pets will need in an emergency.
- Make your home emergency plan to help you stay calm, and safe respond in an emergency.
Draft and emergency plan to know what to do, where to go and who to contact
