Businesses can apply for a 50% reimbursement grant for up to $5,000 to improve exterior features including:
- building façades
- signage
- murals
- architectural features
- siding
- lighting
- awnings
Eligible properties
To be eligible for a reimbursement grant, the property must:
- be properly-zoned (contact us with any questions about zoning)
- have an operating business on the property
- be within the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George, but outside the boundaries of a municipality
Eligible applicants
To apply, you must:
- be the property or business owner (if the applicant is the business owner, the property owner must approve the application in writing, confirming that all improvements will be paid for by the applicant)
- have all property taxes paid
- hold valid business licenses for the property (unless exempt)
- have no outstanding building permits, stop work orders, or development permit condition requirements outstanding
The property must not have already received a grant under this program. The business applying for the grant must be one of the following:
- non-profit and enterprising non-profit organizations (tenants)
- home-based businesses which are zoned commercial, have a storefront and are within the specified area
- home-based businesses without a commercial storefront (eligible for wayfinding signage only)
