Public notice is hereby given to the electors of the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George that a General Local Election will be held on Saturday October 17, 2026 to elect:
- Director, Electoral Area A (Salmon River-Lakes), one person to be elected
- Director, Electoral Area C (Chilako River-Nechako), one person to be elected
- Director, Electoral Area D (Tabor Lake-Stone Creek), one person to be elected
- Director, Electoral Area E Woodpecker-Hixon), one person to be elected
- Director, Electoral Area F (Willow River-Upper Fraser Valley), one person to be elected
- Director, Electoral Area G (Crooked River-Parsnip), one person to be elected
- Director, Electoral Area H (Robson Valley-Canoe), one person to be elected
Nominations will be received by the Chief Election Officer or Deputy Chief Election Officers from Tuesday September 1, 2026 at 9 am until Friday September 11, 2026 at 4 pm by:

- Regional District of Fraser-Fort George at 155 George Street, Prince George BC from Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm*
- Electoral Area G Director
- District of Mackenzie at 1 Mackenzie Boulevard, Mackenzie BC from Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm*
- Bear Lake Community Commission at 353 Grizzly Avenue, Bear Lake BC on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9 am to 1 pm
- Electoral Area H Director
- Village of McBride at 100 Robson Centre, McBride BC on Monday, Tuesday Thursday and Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, and Wednesday 10 am to 4:30 pm*
- Village of Valemount at 735 Cranberry Lake Road, Valemount BC from Monday to Friday 8:45 am to 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm to 4:15 pm*
*excluding statutory holidays
Qualifications for office
A person is qualified to be nominated, elected and to hold office as an electoral area director if they meet the following criteria:
- Canadian Citizen
- 18 years of age or older on general voting day Saturday October 17, 2026
- resident of British Columbia for at least six months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed
- not disqualified by the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election in British Columbia or being nominated for, being elected to or holding the office, or be otherwise disqualified by law
Campaign period expense limits
In accordance with the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, for the 2026 general local elections, the candidate expense limit is $6,161.89 for Electoral Area A, C, D, E, F, G or H Directors during the campaign period.
Third party advertising expense limits
In accordance with the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, for the 2026 general local elections, the third party advertising expense limit is $924.28 for Electoral Area A, C, D, E, F, G or H Directors.
