Contract awarded for landfill gas well field expansion
The Board of Directors approved awarding the contract to expand the Foothills Boulevard Regional Landfill gas well field to Twin Rivers Developments Ltd. for $485,119. The work consists of disposing of eight aging wells temporarily installed in 2011, and then further expanding the gas well field to ensure the landfill can meet green house gas emission reduction regulatory requirements.
Community Works Fund projects
The Regional Board approved $127,700 from the Community Works Fund for construction and repair work on the Azu Community Water System, ensuring the continued supply of safe drinking water, and $70,000 in additional funding needed to complete the roof replacement at the Ness Lake Fire Hall.
Since the inception of the Community Works Fund in 2005, the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George has received over $12 million to fund 79 projects that support drinking water, waste water, solid waste, community energy systems, recreational infrastructure and capacity building.

Community Grants
The Board approved requests for Community Grants In Aid to:
- Miworth Community Association for $743 for Miworth Days
- Fraser Basin Council for $5,000 for youth engagement activities
- Pineview Recreation Centre for $10,000 for a pickleball court and driveway and grounds maintenance
- McBride Elementary Parent Advisory Committee for $5,000 for swim program bussing
Royal Canadian Legion McBride Branch 75 for $4,000 for insurance
