Board Meeting Highlights
2026 budget deliberations
The Board of Directors started the 2026 budget process and approved region-wide and sub-regional services including:
- Administration
- 9-1-1 Emergency Response
- Community Services
- Solid Waste Management
The detailed reports on all the individual region-wide and sub-regional budgets are available in the January 16 Committe of the Whole agenda.
The 2026 budget process continues at the February 25 Committee of the Whole meeting when local services are considered. The overall 2026 Operating Budget and 5-Year Financial Plan will then be approved at the March 19 meeting.
Grants awarded
Community Grants in Aid and Recreation Grants in Aid were awarded to:
Electoral Area A (Salmon River-Lakes)
- Ness Lake Recreation Commission for $6,500 for insurance and operating expenses
- Nukko Lake Recreation Commission for $1,500 a Santa Breakfast event
- Salmon Valley Community Farmers Institute for $4,997 for operating expenses
- Salmon Valley Gymkhana Club for $4,950 for operating expenses
Electoral Area C (Chilako River-Nechako)
- Beaverly Community Association for $1,500 for bussing and swimming lessons
- Beaverly Community Association for $250 for a scholarship
Electoral Area D (Tabor Lake-Stone Creek)
- Buckhorn Volunteer Fire Association for $50,000 for a generator
Electoral Area E (Woodpecker-Hixon)
- Hixon Community Association for $20,000 for insurance and operating expenses
- Hixon Seniors Activity Society for $7,500 for programming and operating expenses
- Hixon Community Association for $13,050 for insurance
Electoral Area H (Robson Valley-Canoe)
- Valemount Curling Club for $6,000 for insurance
