Board Meeting Highlights
Solid Waste Management Plan
The Board approved awarding a contract to review and update the Regional District's Solid Waste Management Plan. The new plan will set the legal framework for how waste, recycling, and waste reduction and diversion is managed. It will also evaluate how the Regional District's systems are working and recommend areas of improvement while meeting regulatory obligations.
Grants awarded
Community Grants in Aid and Recreation Grants in Aid were awarded to:
Electoral Area A (Salmon River-Lakes)
- Salmon Valley Gymkhana Club for $853 for operating, maintenance and events
- Salmon Valley Community Association for $969 for events, operating, consulting and projects
- Salmon Valley Community Farmers Institute for $926 for operating, consulting and events
Electoral Area C (Chilako River-Nechako)
- Beaverly 4H Club for $12,000 for a cargo trailer
- Beaverly Community Association for $2,000 for fireworks
- Nadsilnich Lake Community Association for $10,000 for insurance and utilities
- Miworth Community Association for $2,000 for personal protective equipment
Electoral Area F (Willow River-Upper Fraser Valley)
- Willow River Recreation Association for $3,500 for arena repairs
- Sinclair Mills Education & Recreation Club for $4,500 for insurance, rent, events and hall supplies
Electoral Area G (Crooked River-Parsnip)
- Bear Lake Fire Fighter Association for $12,000 for a training facility
Electoral Area H (Robson Valley-Canoe)
- McBride Farmers Institute for $2,250 for insurance
