Purchasing a plot

You can pre-purchase a cemetery plot or purchase it at the time of interment.

Full body and cremated remains interment or exhumation fees

The fee to open or close a grave for interment or exhumation cannot be prepaid. It will be determined by the Manager of Community Services at the time of interment based on contractor rates. This fee is payable when the cemetery license is issued. 

Additional interment fees

The grave marker deposit and installation fees are payable at the time of interment. The grave marker deposit is refundable if proof of purchase for a grave marker is submitted within three months of interment.

• All fees include GST, except grave marker deposit.
• A resident owns property or has a principal residence is located in the Community Cemetery Service Area when the application for an Interment Right Contract is made.
•  A non-resident does not own property or a principal residence in the Community Cemetery Service Area when an application for an Interment Right Contract is made.

Bear Lake Community Cemetery is user maintained and you should exhibit care when visiting the site:

• overnight parking is not permitted
• pets must be on leash and under control at all times
• pets creating a disturbance must be immediately removed from the cemetery
• owners must clean up after their pets
• take everything you brought with you, including garbage

Any violations of Bylaw No. 6, 2020 will be dealt with accordingly, including:  

• vandalizing structures, monuments, graves or plants
• littering
• creating a nuisance or disturbance
• discharging firearms, with the exception of approved military funerals
• playing games or sports
