In April 2016, an assent vote was held for the proposed Robson Valley Exploration and Learning Service. The assent vote supported purchasing 521 Main Street in McBride as a new home for the McBride & District Public Library and the Valley Museum and Archives. After construction and renovations, the new buidling opened in 2018.
