Students from the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) are surveying residents to understand climate change and hazards in the area like wildfires, smoke, flooding, landslides and drought.

Online survey

Take the online survey

The online survey is open from March 13 to 31. The survey is anonymous, but there is the option to enter your name into a draw for a $50 gift certificate.

Information package and colouring contest

You can also share your thoughts through a short questionnaire included in an information package available at six locations across McBride and Valemount:

The information package also features a children's colouring contest. The contest is open from March 13 to 31. It is anonymous, and you can choose to enter your child's name into a draw for a $50 gift certificate.

Sharing the information collected

The information collected from the online survey and short questionnaire will be shared with residents in a series of open houses held in Electoral Area H between April 14 to 20. More information on these open houses will be announced soon.

UNBC and Regional District partnership

This community engagement is part of an ongoing partnership between the Regional District and UNBC to provide students with opportunities for hands on learning in the Regional District’s land use planning processes. The insights compiled by UNBC students through this process will be considered in the upcoming Electoral Area H Official Community Plan update.
