FireSmart rebate program

Regional District residents who live in electoral areas outside of municipal borders will be able to take advantage of a FireSmart BC rebate program. Homeowners can qualify for a 50% reimbursement grant up to a maximum of $5,000 per property if they complete eligible FireSmart activities recommended by a Wildfire Mitigation Specialist.

The program will launch in early June and more information will be available soon on the Regional District's website.

Update on Electoral Area A (Salmon River-Lakes) Official Community Plan

The Board of Directors received an update on the review of the Electoral Area A Official Community Plan.

The project team continues to gather input from the community, Indigenous Governments, government ministries, the school district and nearby local governments. This consultation phase is expected to take about four months. The Board will then review what was heard and consider any recommended changes to the plan.
