The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George, City of Prince George and Lheidli T'enneh First Nation, as well as the BC Wildfire Service and Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness participated in a simulated wildfire emergency management training event on December 5.

The exercise was designed to train the local governments' new and less experienced staff in an Emergency Operations Centre activation. It was also a chance to strengthen the working relationships between the organizations in a multi-jurisdictional event ahead of what could be another busy wildfire season.
When real emergencies strike in wildfire season, residents can keep up to date on the situation and receive emergency notifications from the Regional District by registering for the Public Alerting System. All emergency information including Evacuation Alerts, Evacuations Orders and evacuation instructions is also posted here on rdffg.ca, and updates are shared on the Regional District’s Facebook page.
