Building Inspections

Building inspections ensure construction work is completed according to approved plans. This includes any changes noted by the building inspector. Building permits include a list of mandatory inspections.

As the permit holder, you are responsible for making sure that you or your contractor contacts Building Inspection Services to book inspections. If you fail to contact Building Inspection Services, you may have to uncover and expose your work for inspections.

After an inspection, the building inspector will email a report to the applicant and contractor. If there are any infractions, these items must be fixed. Then a second re-inspection must take place to make sure that the infractions have been fixed. The permit will be finalized and closed once all mandatory inspections are passed.
