The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George also provides fire/rescue radio dispatch and communication services to these regional districts and to most of the Regional District of Central Kootenay. Starting in 2027, Fraser-Fort George 9-1-1, a service provided by the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George, will answer all 9-1-1 calls made in the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George, Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako, Cariboo Regional District and Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine. The calls will then be transferred to the same dispatch centres as under E-Comm.

When Fraser-Fort George 9-1-1 takes over answering 9-1-1 calls, it will be well positioned to serve northern communities, utilizing local knowledge and providing a financially sustainable model that brings jobs back to the region.

The timeline for launching this new service is adjusted to late 2027 to allow for the focus to remain on the Canada-wide transition to Next Generation 9-1-1 which is placing a strain on resources and vendor capacity. The 9-1-1 calls made in the four partner regional districts will continue to be answered under an E-Comm contract until the switchover to Fraser-Fort George 9-1-1 occurs.
