At 6:40 am on Monday October 20, CUPE 1699 notified the Regional District that as of 6:45 am their members:
- will withdraw their services from Foothills Boulevard Regional Landfill
- will not collect fees at some Regional District sites for the day
At 8:40 am, CUPE provided additional notice that as of 8:45 am their members will withdraw their services from:
- Cummings Road Regional Transfer Station
- Vanway Regional Transfer Station
- Shelley Regional Transfer Station
- Mackenzie Select Waste Landfill and Regional Transfer Station
- Valemount Regional Transfer Station
Landfill and transfer station closures
For residents, this means the following sites are closed today:
- Foothills Boulevard Regional Landfill
- Cummings Road Transfer Station
- Vanway Regional Transfer Station
- Shelley Regional Transfer Station
- Mackenzie and Select Waste Landfill and Regional Transfer Station
- Valemount Regional Transfer Station
No fees collected
No fees are being collected for:
- small loads of household garbage at Mackenzie Select Waste Landfill and Transfer Station and Valemount Regional Transfer Station
- drop-in activities at Robson Valley Recreation Centre and Canoe Valley Recreation Centre
