On Thursday November 6, CUPE 1699 notified the Regional District that their members would fully withdraw services and they have been on strike since Friday November 7.

- fire departments are staffed by volunteer firefighters and they will continue with training and fire protection
- 9-1-1 infrastructure will be operated and maintained, and emergency repairs will be made if required
- water and sewer systems will be operated and maintained, and emergency repairs will be made if required
- the Emergency Operations Centre will still function in the event of an emergency
